In Association with BALAJI Foundation “SWADESH CONCLAVE and AWARDS” is an innovative initiative of APN news which started in 2020. SWADESH CONCLAVE is a theme based platform where we ensure a broad based, inclusive and sustainable growth. As such we need to focus on empowering and motivating the underprivileged sections of the society so that they not only come out of poverty but also contribute positively to nation building. That’s how when we celebrate 100 years of independence, India can claim its rightful place at the top of the galaxy of nations. This Conclave has been planned to create a road map of the holistic development of the nation in the next 25 year.

Since its beginning it is covering various aspects of nation-building through open, vibrant, and insightful interaction and panel discussions involving Ministers, domain experts, policymakers, bureaucrats, civil society, and youth.

The Bharat Shiksha Summit, held every April, is a premier platform dedicated to transforming India's education system. Justice Manepalli Narayana Rao Venkatachaliah

Justice Manepalli Narayana Rao Venkatachaliah served as the 25th Chief Justice of India from 1993 to 1994. He Currently serves as Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning which is a Modern Gurukul. He is Bachelor of Science and also Bachelor of Law from the University of Mysore. He started practicing law in 1951. He was appointed Permanent Judge of High Court of Karnataka on 6 November 1975. He was elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 5 October 1987. Post retirement, he has also continued to work on anti-corruption and human rights issues, including support for the launch of Initiatives of Change Centre for Governance in 2003. He has also served as the Chairman of National Human Rights Commission from 1996-1998 and in 2000 he headed National Commission to review the working of the Constitution.

Rajshri Rai

Ms. Rajshri Rai, co-founded E N Communication Pvt Ltd. and serves as its Managing Director. Ms. Rai worked for over 22 years in journalism. Starting with her first assignment at Hindustan Times she moved to NDTV as reporter, producer and anchor, virtually becoming the face of the channel. She joined Sahara in the year 2000 as correspondent. She is perhaps the only mainstream television entrepreneur who has produced shows on development and specialised subjects like law ,legal aid and awareness and rural India. She has given the Indian readers India's first Legal news magazine, INDIA LEGAL and established one of the most trusted news channel in the country, APN News. Ms. Rai's contribution to Indian journalism has earned her several honours, awards and accolades and she has also written several papers on media industry and has spoken in seminars in India and abroad.

Pardeep Rai

Mr. Pradeep Rai(Sr. Advocate) is the Vice-president Supreme Court Bar Association. Mr. Rai has over two decades of standing at the Bar in the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, Commissions, Regulatory Bodies , and Tribunals, he has experience in litigation across a wide spectrum of civil, criminal, and revenue and constitutional issues. Mr. Rai represents the Union of India, along with many states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Rai is also the Chairman of India Legal Aid Centre and the Chairman of India Legal Research Foundation. He has closely worked with former Chief Justices Hon’ble Mr. Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah and late Hon’ble Mr. Justice J.S. Verma, former chairmen of the National Human Rights Commission to strengthen human rights conditions across India.

Indrajeet Badhwar

Head of the editorial operations of India Legal. Mr. Badhwar worked for more than two decades in the United States, where his work was published in leading magazines and newspapers such as the Washington Post. He was also associated with ABC TV. In India, he headed the India Today editorial team for more than 10 years, besides being an Executive Producer of TV Today and anchor to the popular weekly news magazine show Newstrack. He was also head of Sahara TV network and in the year 2000 he became the editor-in-chief of Media Transasia, which published niche publications like Swagat and Discover India. His 2004 novel, The Chamber of Perfumes (originally titled Sniffing Papa) won France’s most prestigious international award as the ‘best foreign debut novel’, an honor that went earlier to Salman Rushdie for Shame. Till recently, he headed Gfiles, India’s leading magazine devoted to issues of governance and bureaucracy.

Public Policy Dialogue: Balaji foundation through its Summits,programmes and conclaves has been constantly engaging in policy dialogue with various stakeholders from the Government ,NGOs, civil society to private sector so as to create a comprehensive multi-pronged strategy. The foundation has been regularly conducting Swadesh which is one of the very few events where leaders, thinkers,Policy Makers share their Vision of India.

Also, the foundation organizes various conclaves that help in formulating policies for the marginalized.
